Overview

• The program focuses primarily on BEGINNING and INTERMEDIATE STRING TECHNIQUE (traditional string orchestra instruments only, i.e. Violin, Viola, 'Cello, Bass) but recognizes that students will be at differing skill levels; therefore, instruction will be as individualized as is possible.

• Students will need to rent or purchase their own instrument for the program; music store information is available on this website: Click on “Links” then “Tucson Music Stores.”

• String Students NEED THEIR METHOD BOOKS BY MONDAY, AUGUST 22ND!

  We will be using the “Essential Elements for Strings” Method, Books 1 and 2.

• The string class will meet every day during 3rd period - which is homeroom for all students - in the instrumental music room in the MPR.

• In addition to the Tanque Verde String Program, another great opportunity is Tucson Junior Strings. This is a long standing organization providing group and one-on-one instruction.
